Auto Top-Up: Your Credit Balance Now Refills Itself
2 days ago by ReadMe API
Auto top-up is live for all Signal API workspaces. Save a card, set a threshold, and your credit balance refills itself - no more pipelines dying at 2am because you ran out of credits.
How it works
- Go to Billing and save a card (card details go straight to Stripe - they never touch our servers).
- Turn on Auto Top-Up, pick the credit package to buy, and set the balance threshold that triggers it.
- That's it. When your balance drops below your threshold, we buy the package automatically and email you a receipt.
Guardrails built in
- Monthly spending cap (optional): hard ceiling on auto-charges per month. Hit it and auto top-up pauses until the next month.
- Receipts on every charge: email with the amount, credits added, and new balance.
- Card expiry warnings: we email you 30 days before your saved card expires, so top-ups never silently fail.
- Failed-charge protection: a declining card gets 3 attempts, then auto top-up disables itself and tells you - no retry loops, no surprise charge stacks.
- Turn it off anytime: one toggle on the Billing page.
Why we built it
Signal delivery is only useful if it keeps flowing. Customers running daily enrichment jobs told us the worst failure mode was invisible: balance hits zero, API starts returning 402s, and nobody notices until the pipeline report is empty. Auto top-up closes that gap.
