10-Q Filings
Strategic signals extracted from quarterly SEC 10-Q filings.
Overview
The 10-Q is the quarterly report that US public companies file with the SEC—same depth as a 10-K, but covering a single quarter.
Every week, we scan SEC EDGAR for new filings across 8,000+ publicly traded companies. For any 10-Q filed in the past 7 days, our pipeline extracts and analyzes the full document—with particular emphasis on the Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) and Risk Factors sections, where companies disclose quarterly performance updates, emerging challenges, and strategic pivots.
Each filing is classified into one or more of 70+ event subtypes (leadership changes, acquisitions, cost reduction initiatives, cybersecurity investments, etc.) using a model we've fine-tuned specifically for SEC document analysis.
A single filing can produce between 5-25 signals, depending on how many relevant initiatives or pain points can be inferred accurately from the document's content.

Data Activation
Timing
detected_at is when Autobound extracted the signal. Use quarter and fiscal_year to understand which reporting period the filing covers. Access the original via source_url.
Use data.filing_date to understand when the filing was actually submitted to the SEC.
Uniqueness
One signal per subtype per company per quarter. If we detect aiInvestment in Oracle's Q3 FY2025 10-Q, we won't fire another until their Q4 10-Q.
Delivery
Each delivery arrives in a timestamped folder. Signals in that folder cover the window between this delivery and the previous one. Treat all signals in a new folder as recent and actionable—no need to diff against prior deliveries.
Best Practices
- Filter on
relevanceandconfidenceboth above 0.9 for high-precision use cases - Build picklists from
signal_subtypevalues - Use
data.quarter+data.fiscal_yearfor triggering rather than specific dates

}Example Output
"Noticed in Dell's latest 10-Q that financing originations nearly doubled to $3.1B—massive adoption of their as-a-service model. That kind of subscription growth creates real complexity around billing and revenue recognition. We're helping similar companies streamline those systems—would love to share what's working."
